An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Senior Composite Design Engineer to join the Engineering Design function of a leading Formula 1 team.
Working within a highly technical, fast-paced motorsport environment, you will be responsible for the design and development of high-performance composite components, taking projects from initial concept and design through manufacture, build, testing and ultimately race application.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced composite designer who enjoys taking ownership of technically challenging projects while also providing guidance and mentorship to less experienced engineers.
As Senior Composite Design Engineer, you will:
Take end-to-end ownership of projects, covering design, manufacture, build, testing and race application.
Develop design schemes that balance structural requirements, packaging, aerodynamic performance and composite manufacturing techniques.
Conduct design reviews independently and alongside senior engineering stakeholders.
Act as a technical point of contact, sharing your experience and supporting other engineers within the team.
Mentor and guide less experienced composite design engineers.
Identify opportunities for continuous improvement, innovation and creative engineering solutions.
We are looking for an experienced engineer with:
Strong composite design experience gained within Formula 1, motorsport, aerospace or another high-performance engineering environment.
A strong understanding of composite materials, engineering principles and manufacturing technologies.
Demonstrable experience of taking ownership of complex engineering projects.
The confidence and technical knowledge to contribute to and lead design reviews.
Strong problem-solving skills and excellent attention to detail.
The ability to prioritise effectively and deliver designs against demanding engineering deadlines.
A collaborative approach and willingness to mentor and support other members of the engineering team.
