As the Senior Buyer (12 month maternity cover) for a global manufacturer, you will lead the local purchasing department to identify and deliver cost savings. This challenging position requires experience in a supervisory purchasing role within a manufacturing or heavy engineering environment.
We are working in partnership with a global sustainble packaging company, with a strong tradition of delivering high quality manufacturing. This is an industrial site comprising of CHP, water treatment and heavy industrial manufacturing equipment.
Your key responsibilities as Senior Buyer will include:
Leading a team of 4 (Buyers & Stores)
SAP MM key user for the plant.
Assisting with the implementation of a category management approach
Conversion of Purchase orders in accordance with the purchasing policy
Your Profile:
Membership of the Chartered Institute of Purchasing and Supply (CIPS) at level 4 or above
Strong management skills to lead a small team and gain support from all departmental managers for purchasing activities
Experienced negotiator with a proven track record of cost reduction initiatives
Experience of using SAP with a sound knowledge of MRP
